Almost a fairytale from '1001 nights', this magnificent resort seems to spring out of nowhere, a luxurious oasis in the midst of the mystic Liwa Desert. Set in the middle of the Rub' al Khali or Empty Quarter, the largest uninterrupted sand mass in the world, Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara is isolated from the outside world, yet is less than 200km away from Abu Dhabi. The resort brings the mysticism of this eminent location to life, inviting you to discover the unique appeal of its surroundings. Enjoy an array of facilities and desert experiences and immerse yourself in the wonderful splendour of an eternally changing landscape.
With fabulous courses carved out of the desert and along spectacular coastlines, diversity of experiences characterise Abu Dhabi's great golf offering -- you can play a different course for a totally different experience every day for six days!

Abu Dhabi's Golf in Abu Dhabi initiative provides exclusive, highly attractive rates at three championship-ready courses - Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club (ADGC) and Yas Links Golf Club -- and bundles ancillary add-ons, such as flights, hotels and the on-the-ground transportation.
Culture, history and adventure co-exist in this emirate, offering visitors a variety of exciting ways to experience the emirate by air, by land or by sea.
Zoom to the pace of a speedboat tour of Abu Dhabi's coastline, tune to the sound of the wind while sand skiing in the sunset, and enjoy breath-taking views from our clear skies. And whether you're experiencing an adrenaline-rush while challenging enormous sand dunes, exploring the city in an open top double-decker bus, or cruising our waters in a traditional pearling boat, you will discover more than you originally thought.
Shopping is something of a national pastime in Abu Dhabi, perhaps because it's so diverse: everything from ultra-modern malls with the latest brands, to small, souk-like outlets where you can buy traditional perfumes, handicrafts, spices and carpets.
You can spend thousands of dollars on a bejewelled designer watch, or pick up a basic timepiece in a supermarket. You can splash out on an 'haute-couture' designer outfit, or buy fabric and have a local tailor make up your very own creation for a bargain price. You can buy a treasured Arabian antique, or a technology busting super modern home entertainment system.
Prices are often excellent in comparison to those abroad, especially for carpets, textiles and gold. If you are a good bargainer, you can get even better deals.
Most shops open from around 10am to 10pm, and later on weekends. Although most malls work straight through, some independent shops close for an extended lunch break, usually from 1pm to 4pm. Hours usually change during Ramadan, with many shops closing for the afternoon and reopening from 7pm until midnight or even later.
